I have two daughters. My oldest is in Kindergarten and this year I volunteered to become her Daisy Girl Scout Leader. To be fair, I will likely repeat and do this again for my youngest when she is in Kindergarten.
This year I have spent many hours searching the internet for ideas and crafts before each of our Daisy Meetings. One of my goals in 2016 is to document these ideas and crafts so that my second time around as a Daisy Leader will be seamless and much less time consuming.
I started with our Investiture Ceremony and now I want to share our Kaper (or job) Chart that I made for our troop.
I found MDF wood pieces at Joann Fabrics in the shape of a flower (similar to this) and came up with the following as a result.
The flower pots are hand cut from black scrapbook paper and glued onto an Elmer’s Display Board (just three sides, the top is open) that I had painted GS Daisy Blue.
I placed popsicle sticks (one for each girl) into the pots and added one side of Velcro to the stick the other side on the back of each of the flowers (which I painted white). I wrote each of the girl’s names on the flowers — I was going to have them do this, but unfortunately the flowers are just too small for their print.
Lastly, I added “troop” and our numbers – I cut this out of white scrapbook paper.
The girls LOVE to see which job they have each week. I keep track of which job each girl does and try to rotate them around. I move the flowers around and leave the sticks in the pots.
If I had to this again, I would also add a “garden” along the bottom because inevitably each week that we meet, someone is absent!
