Sometimes {ok, most of the time} she really cracks me up….
She came up with this all by herself while I was working on my computer.
Forget about a doctor or a lawyer….maybe she will be an Engineer {just like her mom}!!

My dad recently celebrated his 60th birthday:)
It was a big birthday, but he doesn’t really like big parties so we kept the celebration a bit low-key {My little peanut turns 4 in a week so we had two “cakes”}.
He isn’t exactly the easiest to shop for….so a few months ago I turned to Pinterest. Within a few minutes of searching I came across this post and knew immediately what I was going to do!
I reached out to lots of my dad’s family and friends via a mass email and I also included the same message with my Christmas Cards (for the older folks that perhaps may not have emails). Within a few days the responses started coming in….I couldn’t wait to pick up my mail (**A HUGE Thank You to everyone who helped with this)! The night before his birthday I started filling the envelopes – all 60 of them!
We gave it to him on his birthday…. I hope he liked reading them as much as I liked putting it together:)
Brrr! The new year started off very COLD!
We have spent much of 2014 inside – which really doesn’t bother me too much! I was able to organize some closets, take down some Christmas decorations, post a few items up on eBay, catch up on a few of my favorite shows (I am a huge Top Chef fan!) and of course spend quality time with my favorite little person!
Our big outing this weekend was going to the library for story/craft time! We had a great time listening to the story and making our own Blue Kangaroo (the awesome librarian read “It was you, Blue Kangaroo” – great book)!
After the library I had to run to the store for envelopes. My little one always seems to find something that she cannot live without when we go shopping….yesterday it was play-dough cutters. Unfortunately I forgot that we didn’t have any play-dough to go with the new cutters….so, we made our own (slightly modifying this recipe)! I think it came out great and I think she did too (she played with it for over an hour)!
Once some of the Christmas decor went back to storage, I already started thinking about Valentine’s Day. I love the colors and hearts and decided to make new garland like I had seen here. I cut out A.LOT of hearts out of red, pink and white felt.
And then sewed them together. I just love the way it turned out and now I feel ready to take on the next holiday!!
Of course we have done a lot of this too….
It’s going to be a long week back at work…hopefully it will snow again soon:)
